I took a look at an online copy of an owner's manual for a 2005 Dodge Durango which stated,
"To determine the maximum loading conditions of yourvehicle, locate the statement 'The combined weight of
occupants and cargo should never exceed XXX kg or XXX lbs.' on the Tire and Loading Information placard. The combined weight of occupants, cargo/luggage and trailer tongue weight (if applicable) should never exceed the weight referenced here." Then on page 246 there are numerous steps you need to take in order to determine the load limit. You will need to verify these steps in order for you to determine the limit on your '05 Durango.
If you need a trailer hitch for your 2005 Dodge Durango to use a hitch-mounted carrier I strongly recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13297 because it has a robust 600 lb tongue weight capacity, so it has the capacity to haul a 400 lb chair and an additional 200 lbs if the chair itself needed a carrier of some sort.
I have added a link to the installation instructions for you to check out which I recommend reading.
