Can the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Be Installed Perpendicular To The Tow Vehicle

Question:

A previous question and answer noted that the curt echo controller can be mounted on a vertical angle with no problems. Can it be installed at a angle in the horizontal plane? The way the 7 pin plug is on my hitch would cause it to not sit directly front to back perpendicular to the rear bumper but at an angle.

Yes, the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 can be installed in any direction. I have spoken with Curt before in the past and they have not yet heard back of the controller not working properly due to the angle it was mounted in. In fact, they frequently see customers using this with an in-bed 7-way on larger trucks in which the 7-way is positioned directly perpendicular to the direction of travel.
