Heavy gear or a loaded trailer can make the rear end dip, throwing off braking, steering, and headlight aim. The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs add up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support inside your existing rear coil springs to keep things level. By carrying some of the weight that normally strains your suspension, they help maintain normal ride height and reduce tire wear, squat, and sway when the load gets heavy.
Every trip is different, and this setup lets you dial in just the right support. You can manually inflate each air spring from 5 psi to 35 psi using the included Schrader valves for smooth performance whether you’re towing or running empty. Add pressure when hauling to tighten up handling, or let it out when you want a softer unloaded ride. If you install dual air lines, each spring can be inflated separately to level uneven loads side to side.
Road dips and bumps that used to bounce the rear end now get soaked up by these molded polyurethane air springs. They absorb road shock and help stabilize braking and cornering so the vehicle feels planted on highways or winding roads. The extra support keeps steering response predictable even with a full load behind you.
This kit fits directly inside your rear coil springs using standard tools—no need for big modifications. It comes complete with two air springs, heat shields, tubing, Schrader valves, and hardware so you can get the job done at home. Once installed, you can raise or lower pressure anytime with a simple air compressor or upgrade later with an onboard system for fingertip control.

I ordered this a few nights ago in anticipation of weighing down my wife's 2018 Sienna with a Lolo rack (heavy bike rack that holds 6 bikes), a Thule topper, and 5 people and camping gear. I installed it myself with the help of my 12 year old son and a 2 ton floor jack. It took about an hour. I routed the tubing and used the T-joint to have them both inflate the same.
I did not need the heat shield which is included but I was glad it was there just in case. The amount of tubing in the package is more than enough to route along a path that is plenty far from the muffler.
When we started, the car was almost 30 inches from ground to top center rear wheel well. When I put the rack and bikes and 4 people in the Sienna, it sank almost an inch. When I installed the AirLift, it went up almost an inch, at 35 lbs. I don't mind the extra inch knowing we'll be loading it down, but I will take advantage of the central valve to let some air out when we finish the trip so it rides at its normal height. I suspect the Airlift will allow us to settle down to the normal driving height when the vehicle is fully loaded.
Probably the most important thing to say is that this product is certainly something a person can install themselves if they have a few tools and a little bit of courage. Please PLEASE secure the car so it doesn't fall off the jack, for your sake. Mine didn't, and I don't want yours to. Your mechanic could install this in less than an hour.
This kit did not work. Had professionally installed at shop that does these type of air helper bags all the time in my type of vehicle. They could not get the bags to stop leaking. Over course of 7 days would lose all pressure. The shop indicated that the type of connector Air Lift uses to connect the tubing to the bag is often problematic. For that reason, the shop suggested using air helper bags from Firestone because they indicated the firestone uses a superior type of connector. I had the shop redo the install with firestone springs and those have been working great for months with no issues with leaks. Avoid thise Air Lift ones. Additionally, I tried to work wtih etrailer customer service on getting the issue with the poorly designed product resolved. Unfortunately, etrailer customer service was entirely unheplful. Different reps gave conflicting information. Some were quite rude. Overall, etrailer offered no support nor help when the product they sold didn't work from the start.

These airlifts have been terrific. I have them on a 2006 Toyota sienna minivan . If you have one you know how low they ride. I raise and lower the pressure according to the situation. For routine driving I keep the pressure around 10 and will raise it up to 35 if there's a heavy load or with towing. We tow a medium-size pop up camper. They have been terrific with reducing any scraping of the hitch.
Installation was quite easy, just follow the videos. I did modify the tube routing. Did not join them together but took each individual airlift tube straight out to the front of the tire. There are these little "pockets" in front of each tire. I just ran each line straight to that little pocket and then stick the The valves right into the pocket. It has worked great.
I do find that when I have it on lower pressure that there is a slight squeak from the airlifts. I assume this is due to the fact that they're able to move around more at the lower pressure.

I have now been using the airlifts for a year. We have towed our pop-up several thousand miles. The airlifts continue to work flawlessly. However, for towing the airlifts do not do any weight distribution. For that you need a weight distribution hitch. I am just using my air lifts for now, but considering a weight distribution hitch. Even with that would still need the airlifts for heavy loads.

The lift worked well and really helped with pulling my camping trailer on my Toyota sienna
After less than a week and one 300 mile round trip with our trailer one air lift bag is reading an acceptable 28 lbs while the other is reading reading 23 lbs.

2017 Toyota Sienna van, very helpful for heavy loads and load balancing when pulling 13’ fiberglass and 19’ popup campers. Have used these for years on several different vehicles and have never been disappointed.
I installed these on a 2015 Toyota Highlander to pull trailers without the rear sagging. They work great and don't affect the ride quality, unless they are left inflated more than 10# when no trailer is attached.
This product is an excellent value. I installed on my 2013 Toyota Sienna FWD in a couple of hours, using the instructional video as a reference. When I filled up the bags to 30 PSI and hitched up my pop-up trailer, there was no noticeable sag in the rear suspension. I have yet to take the rig out on a long trip, but first impressions are very good.
The product is holding up great. (Pun intended). The van doesn’t sag in rear then loaded with all the kids and I can add a little pressure to keep it level when we are towing. Thank you etrailer for all the reality and support you have to help help us install the products you sell.
Just what I needed on my Toyota Van. This combined with my Curt Weight Distribution Hitch makes towing my Wolf Pup travel trailer all good! Nice and level now. Easy to install too. I kind of like leaving pressure in them even when not towing to reduce body roll on the van. I ran two separate air hoses on mine so pressure can’t move from one side to the other.
Product is great, but instructions were a bit off. They say to install the protective pad on bottom of coil, instead it should go on top.
The installation videos didn't include the idea of creating a "dead air space" by bending the tabs on the heat shield to form an "L". The instructions showed this process.
The hoses were really difficult to get onto the inflatable bag all the way, even when soaked for 2-3 minutes in very near-boiling hot water. Maybe soak even longer? Not sure, mine held air regardless, so it turned out ok.
Just installed it and have not had a chance to really use it yet. Install was pretty simple. The hardest part really was trying to figure out how to route the passenger side tubing away from the exhaust. I did it with a floor jack on one side and then the other. I went ahead and used the "T" valve with one Schrader valve and drilled a whole in the bracket that the trailer wiring secures to. Took about 30-45 min not including drilling the hole in the bracket.
Exactly as described, easy install. Lifted rear 1.25 inches at 30 psi. Will definitely help carrying loads.
Installed this kit on our 08' sienna awd the day before a road trip. Install went fairly smooth. It did take a couple of attempts to get the air bags stuffed into the coil springs. Routed both airlines individually and mounted on lower bumper black trim just above the hitch. Held air at 35psi overnight, deflated to 25psi with cargo and hit the road. All seems well and the van handles better loaded.
Have to echo other positive reviews of this product. Makes the sienna even more versatile, and it is both affordable and a moderate diy project for shadetrees like me
This lift system was exactly what the doctor ordered! We pumped up the airbags to the maximum, and then loaded my wife’s 2008 Toyota Sienna minivan up with 4+ passengers, camping supplies, a spare tire on the roof, and then attached a cargo rack to the hitch with an oversized cooler packed to the gills, firewood, and chairs without the bumper dropping an inch!!! It was an amazing sight to behold. I highly recommend this lift system!

HECK YEAH! That is great to hear. You may be the first person hauling 2 dirt bikes on a sienna and that's pretty sweet. I am glad to hear these got your bottoming out issue fixed for you. What kind of dirt bikes do you have? Are you able to get them out often and hit the trails if that is what they say?
I somewhat like the result but its not what I hoped for. Installation took a couple of rounds from a mechanic with a lift because the instructions are poor and the install put the spacer puck on the bottom when it needed to be on the top. Then the system leaks and won't hold air for more than a day which is frustrating. The pieces parts perhaps the hoses and clamps I think need to be better quality. Not looking forward to crawling under and trying to find the slow leak. Rubber cement ? The product doesn't come with any sealer or guidance on how to fix leaks they just say to check hoses and clamps and try to fix. Not real good.

The most common reason why air bags leak is that the cuts on the hoses aren't made perfectly square. Get a soapy water solution, and brush it on all the air line connections, then pressure the system up. Then look for the bubbles. That's the best way to find leaks...
There are 6 in our family and we like to play on our vacations. Which means lots of people and stuff in and on our mini-van, and a bike rack with 5 bikes on the back (and one bike inside). Our old Toyota Sienna clearly sagged under the burden, so when we got a 2011 Sienna which has a lower bumper to begin with, I was nervous about how it would handle everything, and particularly with the bike rack out back if it might even scrape the ground at times (bottom of hills, speed bumps...). I purchased these to help the suspension. They installed relatively easily, and we took our first trip of about 450 miles to Cape Cod and all went well. We had minimal if any noticeable drop in the back of the van, even fully loaded with all six of us, a full rooftop carrier, 5 bikes on the back, and extra seating inside (van sits 8) folded down and that available space also packed.
We have only had these for a few weeks and I am a bit of a perfectionist, so these may very well deserve an excellent mark. The only thing that is keeping me from that is that I have only had them for a little while, so if they keep performing as they have so far, I would grade them as excellent.

One year in and they are working very well. I did not test them terribly much this past year, but I have to say what we have done has all gone very well. I am very happy with this purchase and have no complaints.
Awesome Air Bag support for my rear springs for my 2014 Toyota Sienna 3.5" lifted van. It stopped rear sag with heavy loaf and body roll when driving.
My 2004 Sienna was designed to be very close to the ground. It's crazy how low it is. It got even worse after installing a trailer hitch. This airlift is the perfect solution.
The installation video showed folding the air lift lengthwise to fit into the spring. It was only possible to fold the one I have sideways. It was harder to get into the spring, but it means my part is stronger than the one in the video. It would have been nice if Timbren could have included a few self tapping screws since the video says we need them, which this Sienna does. It would also be nice to include a mounting bracket, which is also cheap.
The final result is a big improvement. With 30 psi, the trailer hitch is 11 inches off the ground.
Installed into the 2011 Toyota Sienna V6 FWD Limited (145k miles) and now is geared up a 2" receiver class II draw-tite hitch package and ready to tow are recently purchased metal 8' x 4'6" tilt-bed trailer, or any occasional heavy payloads in the minivan.
When I had updated my tired 2011 Sienna with new suspension components throughout the vehicle (including lower control arms w/ ball joint(s), transmission/motor mounts, CV drive axles, carrier bearing mount bracket, McPherson struts, rear shocks, brake rotors and pads (front and rear), rear parking brake shoes and hardware, outer tie-rod ends, steering/sway bars links, I discovered a broken, rusty rear, right coil. After all swapped out and four-wheel alignment completed, I opted to add this A1000 air lift kit too.
Fit my 2019 Toyota Senna AWD perfectly. Easy to install. didn't even have to disconnect exhaust hanger as instructed. instead i used a 1/2 drive universal joint with sockets to access bolt holes on passenger side. I pull a 2500lb boat or a 2000lb trailer with no problems. I use 15 to 30 lbs air pressure to keep level. i used two valves and separate air for each bag. I didn't want it shifting in long turns. I highly recommend and would buy again....

We leave them aired up all the time, and the ride is just fine. I check the pressures when we start to load the van, and they have held air for over a year. I am really REALLY glad I bought these, they offer a lot of peace-of-mind and there has been NO downside.
