Recommended Maintenance for Blue Ox Aventa Tow Bar

Is there any maintenance other than cleaning required on the Aventa tow bar ?

Complete maintenance and cleaning instructions are included with the tow bar, but as a general guideline, keeping the tow bar clean and regularly inspecting the components is vital.

Check all the retaining pins regularly, and replace as soon as you see any wear on them. If you are in doubt, replace them. Check all bolts for tightness, as loose bolts can cause excessive movement and wear. Check the arm latches for proper operation and adjust as needed according to the instructions. Check the protective rubber boots for deterioration, and replace as needed. Check the holes in the lugs that attach to the vehicle base plate to make sure they are not elongated.

If you store the tow bar folded up against the rear of the RV, Blue Ox recommends a tow bar cover, like part # BX8875.
