Question:

Hi, I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L V8 with the Factory Installed Tow Package. I would like to install the Reese Towpower 8508211 Brake Controller. Can you help me understand what Wire Harness I need? Thanks-

Since your 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the factory 7-way the install wiring you need is the # 5506 which provides the power and ground. Your vehicle has the brake output wire under the dash tucked off to the left side of the dash by the kick panel. This will be a blue wire. The red wire of the controller will run to a purple and brown wire at the brake pedal switch and the white and black would get ran to the # 5506 which runs up to the vehicle battery.
