Question:
Dear Sir, I have a 1997 Eagle Spirit tandem axle boat trailer. It carries a very heavy Fiberglass 23’ 6” Cuddy Cabin Cruiser Monterey Montura 236. The old Demco Model BA-66 actuator and coupler needs replaced. The #s are rusted pretty bad and it’s possible it could also be a DA-66 but it looks like a BA-66 to me. I have included collage picture showing coupler, actuator wheels axle etc. The coupler stamped #’s say its rated at 6000lbs. Label for trailer is no longer legible but I have the vin from the title. I measured the axle diameter and it looks to be 3 inches. Wheels are 5-lug. I have surge drum brakes on the aft axle. It looks like I need the coupler/actuator and brake drums/kit and a brake line kit from actuator to drum brakes. Do you have what I need for complete replacement of coupler/actuator and brakes/brake lines for both back wheels?

Thanks for the picture of your trailer. From that I can tell that the replacement actuator # 099-175-00 is what you'd need.
Three inch diameter axles are typically 5,200 lb but the highest rated hub/drum we have with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern like you have is 3,500 like the part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. If your drum measures 10 inch in diameter then this is the correct replacement most likely but it would still be a good idea to get the bearing numbers out of your hub so that we can verify the correct fit and then from there also pick out assemblies. The hub mentioned has bearing numbers L68149 and L44649.
I attached a help article that will walk you through the entire process of adding brakes to a trailer that will help you pick out the components needed as well.
