How to Determine if Reese Elite RE25 Will Fit with 2019 Ford F-350 with Higher Bed Side Walls

Question:

I have a 2012 Reese Elite RE25 fifth wheel mount p/n 30143 in my 2011 F450. Can you tell me if my 2012 model will fit a new 2019 F350 I think the side walls on the bed are a bit higher on the 2019’s.

The OEM puck locations are the same for both your 2011 Ford F-450 and your 2019 Ford F-350 so the Reese Elite Series 5th wheel hitch 30143 will definitely fit in your newer pickup. Recently pickups have tended to have higher side walls for the bed so you will want to make sure that the walls are no taller than 22" as you need at least 5" of clearance for your 5th wheel trailer and your 5th wheel hitch has a max height adjustment of 17". Please note that you may need to adjust the height of the pin box on your 5th wheel trailer as well to ensure that your trailer remains level while towing.

If you need a little more height then I recommend swapping your 5th wheel hitch to the B&W Companion # BWRVK3305 which has a 25K towing capacity, a max height adjustment of 19-3/4", and fits directly into the pucks on your F-350. This 5th wheel hitch also features a head unit that is easily removed from the base to help make installing and removing the hitch easier.
