how does this affect the distance between the tire and bottom of trailer..??

Expert Reply:
The 4.8 x 8 tires like # AM30060 are 4.7 inches wide and use a 3-3/4 inch wide wheel. For a wider tire I recommend the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.70-8 - Load Range C # AM10012. This tire is 5.9 inches wide. This tire will be 18 inches diameter when inflated and is rated for 910 lbs at 75 psi.
This tire will not only be wider but will almost be 2 inches taller raising your trailer by about 1 inch. For any other tire, you would also need to replace the wheel.
