Question:

I have a 2019 Subaru Impreza Sport Model wagon. I need a rear mounted bike rack for 2 bikes. The Subaru dealer did not sell hitches for the Impreza My questions are: 1.25 or 2? Class 1 or 2 ?...usually one bike but maybe 2 at times What bike rack would you recommend? I want one that swivels down after the bikes are off so I can get into the trunk. Also one that I can lock my bike up if I want to leave the car while the bikes are on the rack. I thank you in advance for assistance.

I recommend a 2 inch trailer hitch for your 2019 Subaru Impreza, the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch # 306-X7350 because a 2 inch receiver is going to give you many more options for a higher quality bike rack (and other accessories if you decide to use them).

For a bike bike rack, I strongly recommend the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4025F because it has the tilting and locking features you are looking for, is easy to use, and has a 5 inch rise in the shank, which is important because a trailer hitch on your '19 Impreza will be somewhat low to the ground. The rise in the shank will provide you with additional ground clearance if you are going up a steep driveway, for example; other bike racks without this rise may come into contact with the ground.

The SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Rack tilts (or as you said, swivels) down with the press of a very handy lever, which will save you from having to get down on the ground to pull a pin to make it tilt down, as is the case with lesser racks. The SuperClamp can also fold up in the same manner if you have it on your Impreza without bikes.

This is a wheel-mounted rack which means no contact with your bike frames, it weighs just 35 lbs so it is easy to handle, and has a robust 60 lb per bike weight capacity. The rack works with tires that are up to 4-1/2 inches wide, but if you have a fat bike with tires from 4-1/2 inches to 5 inches wide you can use the Fat Tire Adapter Kit # SA4419.

I HAVE A 2019 SUBARU HATCHBACK WITH SINGLE EXHGUST I HAVE READ THE POST FROM TERRY WHICH ANSWERED MOST OF MY QUESTONS BUT IVE SEEN A PLATFROM BIKE RACK ON HERE THAT DOES THE SAME THINGS AS SARIS BIKE RACK BUT WAS HALF THE PRICE BUT FORGOT THE NAME? SOMETHING LIKE RONA CONVOY ? IT ALSO CONVERT FROM A TWO BIKE RACK TO A ONE BIKE RACK I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOURE IN PUT ON THE TRAILER HITCH AND THE BIKE RACK IF U CAN FIND IT? THANK U

I believe you're referring to the Rola Convoy 2-Bike Rack # 59308-2, which can indeed convert to a 1-bike rack.

@ChrisR yes ! Trouble is the weight to heavy I would have to lug it up 2 flights of stairs I cant lift that much what would u recommend for a platform rack to put 2 kids size bike on?
