Question:

2018 Subaru Impreza Hatchback Looking for a 2” hitch and bike rack for E Bikes about 60lbs each bike I’m having a hard time because the car is so slow stock My 1.25” Curt hitch bottoms occasionally and wobbles a lot with my current rack and I’m worried the Drawtite is just has bad Please help :

I have a better option for you but you are correct the Draw-Tite item # 76209 will have the same clearance problems as the Curt item # C11465 hitch. Instead, I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7350. This hitch is also confirmed to fit your 2018 Subaru Impreza.

The reason the EcoHitch is a better option is that the main crosstube mounts behind the rear bumper cover instead of below it. This puts the bottom of the 2" receiver 11" above the ground. I have attached a picture below along with an installation video so you can see what this hitch looks like installed.

For a bike rack that can handle two 60 lbs e-bikes, I recommend the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes item # Y88DJ. This bike rack has a 80 lbs per bike capacity. It uses padded clamps with ratcheting straps to hold the bikes securely by the frame or seat post. This means it will work with almost every e-bike style whether or not you have fenders or a step through frame. What I really like about this bike rack is that the shank extends up a few inches outside of your receiver. This gives you more clearance when you are backing out of driveways.
