Question:

I have an older Hitching Post, 4 bike rack. Id like to replace the cradles and anti sway arms. Can you suggest which part numbers I need to order? The arms on my Hitching Post are 1 inch in diameter, so Im hoping replacements such as item 853-7887 will work Thanks

There are currently several different Thule Hitching Post 4-Bike Racks (980, 944, 945, 984, 985, 934, 934 XT, 935, 935XT, Etc.) so it would be a bit difficult to confirm the correct replacement parts without the exact model. If you don't know what model you have then you can try sending a photo and I can go about trying to identify it that way.

However, the Replacement T3 Cradle Body part # 853-5829 and the Replacement Rubber Strap part # 753-3535 will work for all but the 980, 984, 985 models. In regards to the anti-sway cradles, these are no longer replaceable. With that being said, I think it may be time to upgrade to the latest model which is the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR. This would be your only option really if you wanted to retain the anti-sway system.

Need replacement cradles for thule hitching post 980 parts # 753-2185 and #753-2186. I have straps.

I checked with Thule and it looks like those parts are no longer available. I'd try looking for any resale shops that specialize in used parts. If you can't find anything then it's going to have to be time to upgrade your bike rack.
