Blue Ox Patriot Breakaway Installation on 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Being Flat Towed

2018 Jeep gran cherokee flat towing I have a Demco tow bar and baseplate. Also a Patroit braking system. The people mounted the breakaway connector to the one base plate and it covers the safety chain hole. Also cinnected the plug to the grille with tie wraps Where should they be attached

On your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Blue Ox Patriot breakaway connector should be mounted to the front of your vehicle on the driver's side using bolt and lock nut. I've attached the instructions to assist.
It is obvious the installer did not do this correctly and you were right to question the installation. The grill will most likely need to be trimmed to accommodate the fit as you can see in the attached video. There is a decent amount of force needed to activate that pin. Check out the 1:37 mark on the attached video. You can use zip ties to help route the wire away from hot or moving components, so that part is not an issue.
If your breakaway kit is damaged, use # BRK2505 to replace it.
