I recommend installing the Class III Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13176 on your 2019 GMC Canyon because it is an easier installation than most of the other options and it has the safety chain loops located under the receiver for easier access. I have attached pictures and a video of this installed on a 2019 Colorado for you to reference.

If you don't already have a wiring harness on your Canyon then I also recommend installing the Hopkins # HM40975-11998 for a fully functional 7-Way. An installation video of this on a 2019 Colorado has been linked for this as well.

To complete your towing setup, as that is likely what you are using the trailer hitch for, you also need a ball mount. Since pickups can be used for a wide variety of towing applications I recommend using an adjustable ball mount like the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10037B. If you do go with this product then I also recommend adding the hitch lock # BX8858 to help keep your ball mount safe.
