The B&W Tow & Stow adjustable ball mount lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights. Having both a 2" ball and a 2-5/16" ball allows for even more versatility, making this the ultimate go-to ball mount if you own multiple trailers.
To switch the hitch ball, simply remove the pin holding the balls in place and rotate the entire block that the balls are mounted on until the ball you want to use is on top. Then replace the pin to secure the block in place.
Adjusting the height of the ball is just as easy. Remove the pins holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down along the shank to the desired position. Once you have found the correct height, reinsert the pins and replace the clips.
When you're not towing, you can flip the ball mount platform around and stow it beneath your hitch so that you won't bang your shins. Just remove the pins to slide the ball platform down along the channel and up the back side so that the hitch balls face towards your vehicle. Then replace the pins.
The Tow & Stow ball mount features a channel that runs along both sides of the shank. This channel not only allows you to slide the ball mount platform up and down to adjust the ball height, but it also prevents removal of the platform when the ball mount is installed, which will help prevent theft of your trailer.
A slot is cut into the adjustment channel near the top of the shank. To remove the ball mount platform from the shank you will need to remove the entire ball mount from your hitch. Then remove the pins that hold the platform in place. Flip the platform around to the stowed position on the rear of the shank, and then slide it up until the center pin lines up with the slot in the shank. Pull the platform out towards the rear of the shank until the pin pops out of the adjustment channel.
When the Tow & Stow is secured in your hitch receiver, you will not be able to remove the ball mount platform. This is because the slot in the shank is positioned in such a way that the collar on your hitch will block the pin on the platform from being able to leave the channel. Even if the pins holding the ball mount platform in place are removed, the platform will still be confined to this channel. So, as long as a hitch lock is used to secure the entire ball mount in your hitch receiver, and a coupler lock is used to prevent your trailer's coupler from being disengaged from the ball, your trailer will be secure.

The 5” B&W has worked great for me. This year I’ve towed an 18 foot speed boat, a 21 foot family boat, and a travel trailer. Used 3 different heights on hitch to accommodate each trailer, including the larger ball for the travel trailer.
When all done, I use the stow feature too. No more hitting shins on the hitch! Quality unit, very happy with its versatility and solid craftsmanship.
I wish I would have bought one of these years ago. It would have saved me from buying 4 different height hitch receivers. I have a boat trailer that requires me to mount this hitch upside down to get about 2.5in of rise. On the flip side is my utility trailer that requires a 2 inch drop. The kicker is that when I load the truck down with gear and people or load the utility trailer up really heavy, this hitch allows me to kick the ball up or down a notch to keep the trailer level. Also if you ever rent heavy equipment most of the trailers they use will have 2 5/16 ball, so I just flip the ball and I'm in business. Build quality and finish is excellent. I don't keep the mount on all year long but with some judicious use of grease this thing hasn't shown any rust over the past year of use. I am currently using this on a stock GMC Sierra 1500 and I really could have gone with one size down on the hitch drop/rise, but I figured if I ever bought a 3/4 ton truck or a friend with one ever needed to borrow the hitch it would have enough drop to work with that application as well. As it stands the 5in drop isn't too long to cause clearance issues with a half ton GM truck.
For those of you who are wondering about thieves making off with the ball mount - the design of the tow and stow is such that with all the pins removed and the hitch installed on the vehicle, it is not possible to rotate the ball mount off the receiver. Especially if you mount the receiver using the inner most mounting hole. All that is needed is a locking hitch pin and the whole setup is secure.

Excellent heavy duty hitch if you need the ability to two different height trailers and different hitch sizes. It’s really nicely built, looks great. If I didn’t need to accommodate different size hitches I might go a different route because that ball on the bottom side of the hitch hangs fairly low. I did need that so it’s perfect for my needs. Easy to adjust for height and the ball switch is just as slick. I would buy it again.
For the past year, the B&W Tow and Stow trailer hitch has worked great, and has the strength and durability to haul our equipment through the freeways and mountains of the California roadways with ease. I tow a trailer rig for pressure washing that consist of a 300-gal water tank, heater, and other accessories, for a total max weight of about 4,500lbs. The adjustable height feature is great and the dual ball features gives you more flexibility that will allow you to match up with several types of trailer configurations. A great investment for our business and I highly recommend it as a satisfied customer.
I dont have a question, but I do have some input that I discovered after I ordered the BandW Tow and Stow hitch. My original concern was that the hitchs ball head swing arm as BandW calls it could be removed from the shank. There is a review from another customer that said the hitchs ball head could not be removed, so I ordered it based off of their observation.
I saw the experts answer here: http://www.etrailer.com/question-112214.html, and it also eased some of my fears about the hitch being stolen.
Once I received the hitch I could tell that theft is not a concern. In the pamphlet that accompanied the hitch there is an advertisement for a Receiver Lock, which as we know, will lock the shank of the hitch to the receiver. However, it goes on to say that as long as the pin is in the first shank hole when the hitch is locked, the swing arm cannot be removed. This is because there is a channel on the back of the hitch that allows the swing arm to be removed is blocked when the hitch is flush with the receiver hitch see the attached picture.
To summarize, you dont have to worry about the swing arm ball head being removed. A simple receiver lock will keep the hitch safe.
Ships w/o pin so no way to secure to hitch There is no note in the description that the lock pin is an extra option.If Id know it was missing Id have bought the pin too.

Another great product from B&W. I have put this ball mount to work. Having two ball sizes is very convenient for towing different types of trailers. The 10000 lb capacity gives me a sense of safety and confidence for the loads I tow.

The hits keep coming from B&W. After 1-year of use I am a bigger fan. This ball mount is ready for whatever you might on it. I applied lubrication to the height adjusting and ball ion pins as they were getting a little tough to change. This is expected with most any moveable metal connection. Great product!

I pull several trailers, recently adding a 20 ft enclosed to the list. Finally decided to get this adjustable hitch so I don’t have to carry different drops, ball size, etc.
This hitch seems strong and well made. Haven’t hooked it to anything yet, but when I do, I’m sure it’s going to do exactly what I intended for it to do.

Really nice product. Well made. Great finish. Eliminates my need for 3 different receivers as well as the shin buster when I left them in. I didn’t need the 1-7/8” ball that many products offer with the triple ball and was pleased I could order only with the 2 and 2-5/16 ball. My boat trailer and my utility trailer are 2” but different drops and my car trailer is a 2-5/16”. Works great. Wish I had it years ago.

First, thanks for the fast shipping. Second, this hitch is just what i needed to tow my 24ft enclosed car hauler. It is stout weighing in at 26 pounds! I like that it folds back under the receiver when not in use.
Excellent product, this is my second one to buy. I’ve had a B&w hitch on my 2011 gmc z71 for 6 years and bought one for my wife’s 2017 GMC Yukon. I’ve never had a problem with these hitches at all.
