Question:
How often should you replace the hitch pin from normal wear? Mine is less than a year old and is showing significant wear and is slightly not straight

Expert Reply:
There is not necessarily a specific lifespan that can be counted on with hitch lock like your Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # BX8858. If it gets used heavily and a lot of stress on it then a lock can wear down quicker than those that are used somewhat sparingly, but less than a year old is not a lot of time for the issues you are having.
There are hitch locks for a 2" hitch that have warranties, such as the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880 and Bulldog Lifelong Trailer Hitch Lock # BD580402, both of which have a 1-year warranty to offer you some protection.
I have added a link to video reviews of these locks for you to take a look at.
