Since your gate is under 300 lbs I recommend using the Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Cable # GL1. This is rated for 300 lbs and is compatible with open utility trailers that have square-tube, round-tube, or angle-iron side walls. It also uses stainless steel cables, self-lubricating rollers, a rust-resistant eco-finish, and a powder coat finish on the tubing to give you great protection against the elements.
