Can A Second Gorilla-Lift Tailgate Assist Be Installed Later On And How Will It Effect The Tension
Updated 09/19/2022 | Published 09/16/2022 >
Question:
I currently have one Gorilla Lift on my trailer. It was installed about 3 years ago. Can I add a second lift on the other rail? Will there be a difference of old vs. new for lifting, and spring tension?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since you've already set the first Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Cable # GL1 to the desired tension to lift the gate alone you may have to redo the placement of your original gate bolt to set the tension correctly for both lift assists.
I recommend installing the second assist and using the included black S-Hook to test how it feels with the second assist at the same height as the original. If you like how it feels you can set the bolt, but if you feel it's too much then you can lower it and the original to get the desired amount of tension.
