Question:
I have a 21 foot 1996 aero lite travel trailer with twin axles that have torsion suspension and 13 inch wheels. I love my trailer and have made many nice upgrades, however, with my preference for going “off road” and exploring down washboard gravel roads I am wearing out my hubs and other suspension parts. I also can’t find decent tires. What options are there to upgrade my axles and hubs to a more robust system that can take the off road abuse, maybe an axel less system. I’d also like to upgrade to a larger wheel so I could get quality tires. Thanks!

Timbren Axle Less systems like the # A35RS545E will do a somewhat better job in off-road scenarios but the rest of the trailer suspension components are not rated for off-road use so you'll most likely continue wearing out components quicker than a setup used strictly on the highway. The # A35RS545E comes with brake hubs and assemblies already so you'd just need tires and wheels like the bias ply setup # AM3S560. Bias ply tires tend to do better in off-road scenarios as they have more flex to them which helps absorb some of the shock.
