Question:

Would this help reliability of LED trailer lights on my F150? Im having trailer disconnect and lamp fault messages in my dash with my current LED lights directly to my truck. What is the length of this item? Also, does this come in a 4 pin to 4 pin connection? Thanks

The Tow Ready Trailer Connector Adapter # 20142 referenced in your question should indeed resolve the lamp fault and trailer disconnected messages you're getting in the dash of your F-150 due to the trailer's LED lights. The adapter will bypass the sensors that are causing these messages to appear.

We have had customers use this adapter on their Ford vehicles and they worked perfectly. I have attached a review from a customer who was having the same exact issues as you on his Ford F-350.

I went out to our warehouse and measured an overall length of 5-1/8 inches on the adapter from end to end.

There isn't a 4-Way to 4-Way version available of this adapter but we do have the Curt # C35FR. This will plug into the 7-Way on your truck to provide you with either a 4-Way or 5-Way at the other end that you can connect ot the trailer. This features the same lamp-out sensor bypass as the above-mentioned product.
