Do Any Wiring Connections Need to be Made to Install a Brake Controller on a 2019 Chevy Colorado

Is there any fuse block work to be done when installing a trailer brake controller on a 2019 Chevy Colorado? On our 2007 Yukon, I had to hook up the 2 power wires in the fuse block under the hood and stab in 2 fuses to get constant power. I did not see this step in your Chevy Colorado videos. Just double checking my steps before I get started, as I don’t want to miss something. Thanks.

No, you shouldn't have to make any connections under the hood when installing a brake controller on your 2019 Chevy Colorado. You will need to do some splicing though with a traditional brake controller as the needed wires are already run towards your driver's side dash (see attached video of Prodigy P2 # 90885 on a 2018 Chevy Colorado).
For a brake controller I highly recommend going with the Curt Echo # C51180. This is an innovative brake controller that plugs directly into the 7-Way at the rear of your Colorado and doesn't require you to do any splicing for the controller since you make adjustments via an Apple or Android device. Just make sure that your Apple device OS is 8.0 or newer OR your Android device OS is 4.4 or newer and that is all you need! The app for your smart device allows you to make adjustments to the braking performance of your trailer without needing a brake controller that stays installed in your vehicle.
If you don't already have a 7-Way at the rear of your Colorado then you simply need to install the Hopkins # HM40975-11998 and you are set for trailer wiring. I have attached a video of this being installed on a 2019 Colorado that you can reference.
