Can Thule Square Load Bars be Used on the Yakima Rack & Roll Trailer

Question:
Adam R. responded that Yakima also confirmed that other brands of round load bars are compatible with the Rack and Roll, as are the Thule square load bars. From the pictures on this product, the load bar connectors to the trailer would appear to grasp a square load bar like a diamond shaped end angled rather than allowing for the flat surface of the square load bar to run parallel to the ground. The square load bars must be inserted flat or else two j-style kayak carriers would not be aligned properly to securely hold a kayak. Will the Yakima Rack and Roll crossbar trailer connectors grasp the square load bars in such a way as to allow them to lie flat for proper use with various bicycle/kayak carriers?

I reached out to a representative of Yakima who double-checked and confirmed that the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08107 is able to be used with square bars such as yours from Thule and they will be run parallel to the ground so you can use accessories. Like you mentioned, if the square bars were oriented in a diamond shape it would essentially be the same as not having crossbars at all because they wouldn't be functional.
This will allow you to use carriers such as the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073 or Yakima HighRoad Roof Bike Rack # Y02114.
I have added links to video reviews of the Rack and Roll # Y08107 for you to take a look at.
