Troubleshooting Lippert Power Tongue Jack LED Lights Staying On With Switch Turned Off
Updated 02/27/2019 | Published 02/26/2019 >
Question:
My LED lights are illuminating low, with switch in off position. When I switch it to the on- its bright, turn it off it reduces to the low illuminating I previously mentioned. Brand new jack. So, I assume that this is a problem, does Lippert recommend changing out switch? ..or does it require a whole new jack? They must a definitive answer for this issue considering its not the first one to have this problem. Thank You, Sadly reporting,

Since this is a brand new jack you shouldn't be experiencing problems. I spoke with my contact at Lippert who said he hasn't heard of this being a very common issue and your best bet is a bad ground or a new switch. It is also possible that you could get the unit swapped out for a new jack if it is still under warranty. I recommend checking into that first.
If the LED lights on your Lippert # LC285318 Electric Trailer Jack are still illuminating when the switch is off then you either have a short somewhere or there is something going on with the switch itself and it needs to be replaced.
Start off by making sure all of your wiring connections are secure and corrosion free and also make sure that it is mounted to a clean, bare-metal surface as that is how this trailer jack grounds. If all of that looks good then the next thing to check is the switch. Take the top off and check to see that everything is looking okay where the switch installs. Replacement switches are no longer available.
