Differences Between the Thule Force XT and the Thule Motion XT

Question:

I read with interest the comparison view on the Thule Force vs. Motion. It was said if you go with the Force vs. the Motion you are not giving up that much. If I go with the Force vs. the Motion, what am I giving up?

The Thule Force XT # TH6358B and the Thule Motion XT # TH629706 are nearly identical in every way. The only real differences are that the Motion XT has a SlideLock system which makes the lid lock automatically once it's completely closed and has red Indicators to let you know if lid isn't closed securely, as well as a slightly large crossbar spread compatibility (literally 1-3/8"), and an extra load strap to secure cargo.

Personally I like the Black AeroSkin finish on the Force XT over the Motion XT so if you can live without the main difference (the SlideLock system) then I recommend going with the Force XT over the Motion XT as well.
