Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Thule Replacement Lid Lifter Hinge. This is going to replace the lid lifter hinge for your Thule Force XT XXL Rooftop Cargo Box or your Force XT XL Rooftop Cargo Box. Now, on your screen, I am including the model numbers of those boxes for you for your easy reference. And this lid lifter hinge is directly from Thule, so you can trust that this is going to fit right in place with that original one.
You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility or fitment issues or anything like that. But I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

These were perfect replacement for my Thule Force XT-XXL roof cargo carrier. I was hesitant at first as it was only listed for one replacement. But I after conversation with tech and a follow up with a tech, I ordered two.
Low and behold, part numbers are are so close. They look identical too. So if you have one of these and need replacements, just buy two of these for both the front and back as both of mines failed just about the same time and it was such a hassle trying to maneuver it while the latches were broken.
*Side note*
Thule lists these as different part numbers front vs rear, but rest assure they are identical and will work regardless. Don't believe me, just look at the imprinted part numbers and you will see how they are in fact just the same.
I have also provided pictures to see the comparison of new vs old. Old ones are with the white part showing as that is where it busted open.
Removing requires a bit of force. I used a pry bar. Once it was a bit loose, some force with my small hammer was able to force it off the ball mount. For the install I used a bit of lube, in my case dab of silglyde, on the ball mounts and using a rubber mallet to hammer it in.
This fit perfectly. Part came quick and wasn't too hard to install. Fits Thule motion XT xl. Perfect fit, and seems to bee same quality as the original hinge.
Worked perfect. They are a bit hard to get on, I just used a clamp and a board and they popped into place
Correct replacement, quick delivery, all good ??

What else could you ask for?!
The new spring is strong, providing much more lift than the old spring. Consider replacing both lifts for a uniform push.
The installation is tricky: you need to hammer the part over the metal stub. Best to have a rubber mallet for the job.
Exactly what I needed to replace a broken hinge for my Thule Force XT XXL

Glad they worked for you, Qhua! And thanks for adding how you installed them. We don't get much of that, but it's always welcome as others will likely run into the same thing when they do it. What do you typically carry in the box?
