Weight Distribution Shank to Adjust for Taller Height of 2019 Ford Pickup

I have a new 2019 Ford F-250, which from the factory sits a lot higher than my previous 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500. I have a Camco Recurve R3 WDH which I use to tow my 2017 30’ Travel Trailer 7500lbs dry weight with a 910lb tongue weight. My problem is that the hitch now sits too high for a level tow. The current shank I have only has one more hole to the hitch a little lower, but that still leaves me with the top of the ball around 23”-24” off the ground when the truck is unloaded. What size shank should I look for to get the necessary ball height someone recommended that I try to achieve a 21” max ball height for my trailer? My truck has a 2.5” receiver, but I have a reducer to bring it downs to a 2”. Thanks for any help you can provide

Ford trucks are getting taller and this can sometimes cause towing complications.
The good news is that weight distribution shanks are standardized for hole size and hole spacing. This allows them to be interchangeable between brands. Since you have a reducer sleeve in your 2-1/2-inch hitch you will have that many more to choose from since you can use either a 2-inch shank with the reducer or a 2-1/2-inch shank by itself.

For a 2-1/2-inch size shank with 10-inches of drop (when used with round bars like your Recurve setup) you can use the Curt shank # C17132. If 7-inches of drop is enough you can use one of the Gen-Y Torsion mounts that cushion your ride, such as # 325-GH-1302, which fits the 2-1/2-inch hitch. This high-capacity shank features rubber torsion cords to absorb shock and it has a built-in tongue weight scale.
