Question:
We have a 2015 Silverado 1500 with a 2”, I use a heavy duty sway control system. My trailer weight is 6560 dry. My max towing capacity is 9200lbs. I want to be able to travel with the tailgate done so I can load my motorcycle. Is there anything available for my vehicle?

I am assuming by heavy duty sway control system that you have a weight distribution system, something like part # EQ37120ET. If that is the case then your best option to consider would be an extended shank. The longest shank we offer is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4600 which measures 14" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the adjustment hole. This may or may not allow for the tailgate on your truck to be laid down with the system attached but you can compare the above distance on the shank you have now to determine this. This shank will work with nearly all weight distribution systems on the market so no need to worry about brand. I have attached a photo and review of this shank being used for the purpose of towing with the tailgate down.
Unfortunately, none of the hitch extenders like the Brophy Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches part # ST18 have a weight capacity that is suited for the weight of your trailer.
