Does this replace the fan in the vent line VD0434 unit bathroom fan

The VD0434 number that you mentioned is actually the screen part number on your Ventline fan. Knowing that, the replacement motor should be the Ventline part # BVD0218-00 which is for Ventline, Ventadome, and Vanair Fans. If you are replacing this on an older unit then you also need the Fan Blade # BVD0215-00.
The replacement motor # BVD0278-00 that you referenced is actually a replacement for a Ventline range hood like what you would have in your kitchen.
If you are unsure of what your Ventline bathroom vent part number is just send me a picture of your vent unit and I can see if the replacement motor I referenced above will work.
