I want this Curt for my 2018 Golf R. Will I have to cut the bumper?

There is some fascia trimming required to install Curt hitch # C11564 on your 2018 Volkswagen Golf R.
Take a look at the diagram included in the installation instructions that I attached. It's right from the install details and shows how much trimming is needed. There needs to be a 2-1/2 inch by 3-1/2 inch notch cut for the receiver tube to drop down from behind the bumper. The diagram is showing the fascia under the bumper as if you're underneath the car looking up. Notice the exhaust tips on each side so you can see the orientation.
