4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness for 2016 Subaru Legacy

Question:

Can my Subaru Legacy be wired for towing and not affect the eyesight operation? I tried to have the dealer install the harness , but they didn’t know if it was going to affect the system. Can the harness be installed ?

There is no issue installing a 4-pole trailer wiring harness like # 118671 or # C56246 on your 2016 Legacy that has the Subaru EyeSight collision avoidance system. Lots of our Subaru-owner customers have done so. Between these two items I recommend the Tekonsha # 118671, which is shown in the linked installation video, since we have found their harnesses to be very reliable.

The Eyesight system is based around several cameras that monitor road conditions and generate warnings. The wiring harness has no effect on these cameras.
