Should Lube Plate be Use with Sidewinder/Reese Revolution Pin Box
Published 12/03/2018 >
Question:
I have an Mopar A20. Trailer has a revolution pin box and I have purchased the C16992 wedge. I would really like to use the lube plate but the holes dont line up. The lube plate wont fit unless I trim it as it covers one of the holes. There is 3/16inch thickness for lube plate. Please let me know if it is ok to trim the lube plate. Or should I not use the lube plate at all. Really dont want to use bearing grease.

You actually aren't supposed to use a lube plate with a Reese Revolution/Sidewinder pin box. Because the pin box doesn't turn in the hitch head you'd only need to grease the wedge and king pin and you'd be fine. Since they are not necessary, lube plates were not designed to work with Sidewinders.
