Yes, the Curt Class III Hitch Receiver # C13285 is confirmed to fit your 2017 Cadillac XT5 base model. It will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation and features a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.

For a trailer wiring harness I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One # 118720 if you need a 4-Way connector or the Tekonsha # 118276 if you need a 7-Way. These are both custom harnesses that will install by simply plugging into factory ports behind the access cover at the center of your XT5's rear bumper. I like the Tekonsha harnesses over the Curt options simply because of their reputation for producing reliable and long-lasting units. We also hear of far fewer troubleshooting questions with their harnesses than we do with those from other brands.
