Question:
I am looking for a solution to transport my kayak with a 2015 BMW 435i convertible. 1. Since I cannot put it on the roof, Im looking at the Yakima RackandRoll. Are there any better options? 2. I currently do not have a traoiler hitch. I would need to install a trailer hitch with the appropriate accessories. Can you make a recommendation?

For your 2015 BMW 435i convertible, the Yakima Rack and Roll # Y08106 is an excellent option and my personal preference. I believe it is made better for the application and it won't limit your speed as the tires are rated for the posted road speeds. You may however want to consider the alternative options of the Malone MicroSport Trailer 13 foot # MPG460G with saddle carrier # MPG110MD. You will be restricted to 65 mph with this trailer due to the trailer tire rating.
To pull a trailer with your convertible, you will want to start with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11367 and then use the ball mount # C45521, hitch ball # A-82, and pin # F-4. Then you simply need the wiring harness # 119250KIT which will give you the 4-way wiring needed for your trailer lights. This harness will use zero contact interface sensors to keep your wiring unchanged and will draw power directly from the vehicle battery.
I've attached videos and an article to assist. Let me know if you have further questions.
