Do They Make a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for a 2005 Volvo S80

The only trailer hitch receiver they offer for your 2005 Volvo S80 is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12285 which has a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. Therefore, no they do not offer a trailer hitch receiver with a 2" receiver tube opening on your 2005 Volvo S80. You can obtain a 2" receiver tube opening by using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # C45785 but please keep in mind that this will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%.

hard to believe that the addition of the adapter has that much of a effect on my capabilities. I would like to tow a 5x8 closed in trailer . can i still do it?

As long as you are under the max towing capacity of your vehicle then yes, you don't need a 2" trailer hitch receiver to tow a trailer. I would assume the utility trailer doesn't have brakes so as long as it does not weigh more than 1,650 lbs you will be good to go. All you will need is a trailer wiring harness part # C59496, ball mount part # C45521, hitch ball part # A-80 (1-7/8") or part # A-82 (2"), and a pin/clip part # F-4.
