For my 2018 Honda CR-V I want a hitch but I want the tailgate lift sensor to still work.

For your 2018 Honda CR-V the Curt trailer hitch part # C13397 is the hitch I recommend as only the hitch opening will be visible under the rear bumper of the vehicle and because it has great towing capacities. What you'll need to do is remove the bumper shell, and move the sensor unit 7 inches to the right, as that is where it's installed if the Honda trailer hitch accessory is installed.
