Installing/Repairing the Blue Ox Coiled Electrical Cord # BX88254 on a 2012 Ford Focus

Question:
Heres the deal. I bought a 2016 Coachmen Pursuit, and a 2012 Ford Focus with a Falcon 2 tow bar already installed. The RV service center in Oklahoma installed the Plug and Play brake. Everything was fine till I quit having tail lights and turn signals on the Focus. I pulled the 4 pin end off the tow cable and found only 1 wire still connected....the black one. I pull out the receptacle end from the car that this plugs into to see if I could reattach the wires on the cable end. I can reattach the white one which should have made it 50/50 on the other 2. I called the man who installed it and he said go for it, I can do no harm. Im not convinced. If I order this part from you BX88254, should it work in my current set up? Thank you

The Blue Ox 7-Wire to 4-Wire, Coiled Electrical Cord # BX88254 will work with your current setup if you are wanting to replace your current wiring.
I do have a way for you to accurately recommend all of your current wiring as well if that was your concern. Attached is a photo of what pinout should be for your 4-Way. Simply apply 12V power to the loose wires to see what light circuit they run to and then connect them accordingly. You can use the 7-Way photo that I linked so that you know which color wire runs to what function from your RV.
If you do choose to just replace the socket and wiring then you can still use these diagrams for the installation.
