For your 2016-2018 Chevy Silverado, lets start your flat towing set-up with base plates. I recommend the Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-3176-3 which is compatible with all Roadmaster tow bars. I recommend using the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights # RM-676 to give you the wiring connection, safety cables, and even LED lights for visibility. You may want to add a hitch lock like # e98880 to secure your investment and use a cover like # RM-055-3 for storage.

Then for your vehicle wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152 which will use diodes to protect your vehicle electronics while utilizing the wiring. I also recommend using the Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 and the charge line kit for your vehicle battery # RM-156-25 to maintain your battery while towing.

For your supplemental braking system, I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This system only needs adjusting at installation and then becomes plug and play. It is out of sight thus out of mind, but it is also highly reliable and a favorite for our installers. You will also need a stop light switch so your RV monitoring system alerts when your tow vehicle brakes are being applied. If you have adjustable pedals you will use # RM-751463 if you have non-adjustable pedals, then you will use # RM-751488.
