Were do I find the cold side of the braké switch for trailer brakes

The cold side of the brake switch is located behind your brake pedal. You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wires to the switch. There will be a constant power 12v that will come into the switch and the wire you are seeking is one that has no signal when the brake pedal is not pressed, but has the signal when the pedal is pressed. So it is cold (not showing power) when the pedal is up and is hot (showing power) when the pedal is pressed.
I've attached a video of the brake controller installation on a 2012 Jeep that I recommend starting at the 15:45 mark. It will show that on that vehicle the correct wire is a white wire with a brown stripe. I've also attached a video of a 2008 Jeep that shows this as well at about the 9 minute mark. That is the first wire I recommend testing.
