Is 1,500 lb Trailer Jack Enough for 21 ft Boat Trailer

Hi I have a boat that is 21ft. and wanted to know if a electric tongue jack that is 1500 lb max would be enough power to do the job.. thank you

Trailer jacks are rated for the amount of tongue weight that the trailer has. Typically trailer tongue weight is around 10 percent of total trailer weight. So for a 1,500 lb jack to be at capacity the trailer would most likely weigh near 15,000 lbs. So a 21 ft boat trailer would have no problem with a 1,500 lb jack capacity.

Our most popular swivel jack for a boat trailer is the part # MJ-1200B which has a 1,200 lb capacity and would work well.
