Troubleshooting Surge Brake Trailer that Doesn't Want to Release Trailer Brakes at Stop

this is a follow up question to your answer regarding it may be a caliper issue. I have 4 wheel disc brakes on my boat trailer. All 4 are getting very hot brakes not releasing after stop. If its all 4 wheels getting hot, I would lean towards the actuator being the issue?

Most likely you have a bad shock in the surge brake actuator of your trailer as that's typically what causes a surge coupler to not want to release all the way. Or it's an Atwood actuator which is just notorious for not functioning properly. Have you checked the shock yet?
