Installation of Trailer Hitch on 2018 Toyota C-HR

Question:
According to one the answer to one of four questions asked about installation in a 2018 Toyota C-HR, “There is no drilling required for installation though there is an under body panel that will either have to be removed or trimmed for the hitch to fit.” Does a panel have to be trimmed or otherwise permanently altered or panels pulled and then refitted unmodified with the receiver?

When installing the Curt # C11490 trailer hitch, underbody panels must be temporarily removed, as does fascia, although it does get reinstalled, as you can see in the instructions for the Curt hitch that I added.
The modification that does need to be done is to the tabs on the end of the bumper beam, which need to be flattened down to ensure they are flush, which you can see in the cutout of the instructions.
