after watching the video installation of this kit on the Honda Odyssey I dont understand the function of the white wire of the duplex wire.

The double bonded wire of the Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506 that you referenced carries two circuits to the battery of the vehicle for installing the brake controller. The black wire is the power wire and the white wire is the ground circuit.
