Question:
Does the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee require the computer to be reset once the wiring harness is installed? C55384
asked by: Mark B
Expert Reply:
When you install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55384, it may be necessary to see a local Jeep dealer to activate the tow package wiring circuit. Some vehicles have the active tow package wiring and others do not, so you will know as soon as it is installed if this is required or not. If you test the function using a tester like # I26, a circuit tester like # PTW2993, or connect it to a trailer, you will be able to determine if that activation is necessary or not because the harness will not work if the activation is required.
If you already have a functional trailer connector, then this harness will work without any additional computer activation.
