I am not sure of the particular video you are referring to, but if your 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is equipped with the 7-Way connector, then installing a trailer brake controller is a simple, plug-and-play installation. For this application, you will only need the Plug-In Adapter # 3035-P to install a Tekonsha brake controller like the excellent Prodigy P3 # 90195 (which is what I recommend when you are ready for the install). One end of the adapter will plug right into the brake controller, while the other end will connect to a factory port beneath your truck's dash.
If your Explorer Sport Trac has the factory 4-Way connector instead, then you will need to first convert it to a fully functional 7-Way with the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything needed to convert the 4-Way to a 7-Way, along with the needed circuit breakers and wiring for installing the brake controller. If this is what is needed for your truck, then the controller will just need to be hardwired, as the truck won't have the factory port needed to use the above mentioned Plug-In Adapter.
I have attached a great article that details the installation steps for this wiring kit that you might find helpful.
