Recommended Trunk Bike Rack to Fit Both 2012 Mazda 3 Sedan and 2015 Toyota RAV4

I would like to know if the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount Item # TH910XT will fit BOTH a sedan 2012 Mazda3 and an SUV 2015 Toyota Rav4. The photos for this product on the product page show it on both a sedan and SUV, but it does not say whether or not it can fit both. Thanks!

The Thule Passage 2 trunk-mount bike rack # TH910XT is a confirmed fit on the 2012 Mazda 3 sedan but not on the 2015 Toyota RAV4. The RAV4's spoiler on the rear edge of the roof is the issue.
For a good quality trunk-mount rack that works on both vehicles I suggest the Hollywood Racks Over the Top # HRF2-3. This is compatible with the RAV4's roof spoiler and also works well on the Mazda sedan. This rack has a 3-bike capacity which can be nice even for just two bikes since it gives you a bit more space for each bike, but if you prefer a 2-bike option use part # HRF2. You can refer to the linked video for more on the Over the Top.
If you wish to add locks to deter theft you can use Security Strap # TH533 to secure the rack to each vehicle and cable lock # e98891 to lock your bikes to the rack.
