Question:
I have a landing gear that I just replaced the gearbox metal replacing the plastic one. The entire gear box had rotated 45 degrees and I could not put the manual crank on it when the system failed to lift my trailer. Now, the trailer still wont lift, It will , but wont lift, and I get a chunk, chunk chunk sound. I replaced the batteries, charged them overnight, and no solution. I am thinking the clutch box or perhaps motor and clutch box may be bad. Suggestions to diagnose? I need a pretty quick solution, I need to use the trailer in about 10 days

The type of noise you describe does suggest a mechanical issue in the gear train of your landing gear. Since you already replaced the gearbox this tends to point to the internal parts of the lead leg. Since it sounds like the motor itself still operates, but just cannot drive the jacks so they extend, you may have a bad lead/driver leg.
I linked our pages for both complete landing gear sets and for replacement legs. You will want to match the tubing size and the placement of the weld stop on the outer tube. Replacement Lead Jack part # LG-179013 works for various Stromberg Carlson jack sets and also for most other landing gear brands, including Atwood, Venture, and Lippert models.
