Question:

Hi, what is the recommended hitch lock for 2017 Tacoma. I plan on buying the C18100 carrier. Also, will the aluminum carrier be strong enough to carry 4 - 5 gal cans of water on dirt roads, occasional very light duty off roading. I know it is rated for 500 lbs. but it looks a little flimsy and Im wondering if it will bounce too much. Regards,

None of our cargo carriers were intended for off-road use but the Curt cargo carrier part # C18100 does have a 500 lb capacity when used in on-road applications. I attached a test course video for you to check out that shows you how stable it will be on the highway when in use and loaded.

For a hitch lock that doubles as an anti-rattle device we have the part # 63232 which would work well. It holds the shank of the carrier tight to the hitch tube which prevents it from moving.
