Question:
I have a small trailer with a 7 pin round female plug. No brakes Also have a trailer, with brakes, that uses the same 7 pin receiver on my truck. I have a Mazda CX-5 with a 4 pin flat plug that I would like to plug into the 7 pin female on the small trailer. Is that possible..I cant seem to find an adapter. Suggestions appreciated.

For a 4-way to 7-way adapter for an application where you would never plan to operate trailer brakes all you need is the part # 37185 which allows just the trailer taillight functions to pass through.
If you instead do plan to operate trailer brakes you'll need the adapter part # ETBC7 instead. This actually comes with the # 37185 plus all additional wiring to install a brake controller as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
