will this hitch fit my new BMW? It has a unibody frame and even BMW does not have a towing package available for this yet.

Yes, the CURT Trailer Hitch, # C13316, is designed to fit the 2011 BMW X3. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, # EBMK4, which comes with a ball mount, interchangeable ball set, pin and clip, and a carrying bag. For trailer wiring, use # 119250KIT. I have included links to the installation details and a video showing a typical installation.

I noticed that the Draw Tite hitch for my 2011 X3 has a higher capacity rating than the Curt. Is that important? Is it really a stronger hitch. Also, what mounting hardware do I need?
