No Power at 12 Volt Circuit on 2017 Ram 1500 7-Way Trailer Connector

Question:

I have no constant power in my 7 way plug I cant find a burnt fuse under the hood Any idea would be greatly appreciated

For starters, I would first check to see that you are testing the correct pin. The correct pin that should house the 12-volt circuit on your 2017 Ram 1500's 7-way trailer receptacle is located in the 1 o'clock position (see photo). The vehicle will need to be running for this circuit to show power. The next thing I would check is fuse box, in particular a pink 30-amp fuse located in the F30 position.

If none of these option work for you then you will need to begin tracing the black 12-volt wire back from the trailer connector as far forward as you can while checking for breaks or frays. You may also find it useful to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 at intermittent points as this will give you a better idea of where the break has occurred. If all else fails, then you will want to run a wire like part # 10-1-1 (per foot) from the 7-way trailer connector directly to your battery with a 40-amp circuit breaker like part # PK54530 placed 6" from the positive terminal.
