Question:
I have a 2014 Keystone Cougar High Country, Model 333MKS. Which hub assembly is the correct one for my 5th wheel for the left rear wheel? I have had the bearing fail me 3 times in the past 2 years. I had to replace the hubthe first time, the 2nd time resulted in having to have a new axle. The third time resulted in losing the brakes so I need the plate and brake assembly. Any information you can provide is appreciated. My model is not available in your system.

We have everything you need to replace the hub and brake assembly on your Keystone Cougar Trailer, but unfortunately trailer manufacturers do not keep an accurate or readily available record of the smaller parts that they install on trailers. Because of this, the best method for determining which hub will fit your trailer is to simply pull the hub and check for the bearing numbers that are used. The numbers should be stamped right onto the bearings themselves. If you cannot locate this information, you can also measure the spindle at various locations with a digital caliper like # PTW80157 (see attached image).
Once you identify your bearings and seal, you just need to make sure the hub you choose features the same bolt pattern as your existing wheels and it is rated properly for your axle. If you do not know what bolt pattern you have, I have included a great article that explains exactly how to measure this.
Based on my research, it looks like your 2014 Keystone Cougar High Country trailer features two 6,000 pound axles. I do recommend verifying this, as its possible you have a different model. The etrailer.com Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K may be the correct unit, as it is designed for 5,200 and 6,000 pound axles and uses the # 25580 inner bearing and # 15123 outer bearing. It features a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. You will still want to verify the bearing numbers on your existing hub to make sure this will fit your spindle.
For the above mentioned 12 inch hubs, the etrailer.com Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Left Hand # AKEBRK-7L-SA or Right Hand # AKEBRK-7R-SA is a great option. It measures 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches wide. It is designed for 5,200, 6,000, and 7,000 pound axles.
I have attached a couple articles on trailer hubs and bearings that you might find helpful, along with links that will take you to our available selection of hubs and brake assemblies that you can look through.
